Thank you Bree!

Bree, one of my fabulous October brides, offered three different cupcakes flavors for their wedding.  She wanted a unique way to display the cupcakes so the guests knew what the different flavors were.  She decided to display one of each of the three flavors under a glass bell with a flag stating the flavor!  What a great idea!

Bree offered the glass bell to me and I gratefully accepted!  Thank you so much Bree!  Not only did you give me a display piece but you also offered a unique way to show off cupcakes at a wedding or large event!

See her wedding post here!

This is for you Jen and Amy...NATAS!

This weekend I met up with Jen and Amy and they were telling me about this dessert that they had when they were in Portugal.  So, given that I love baking, I decided to try my hand at making them.

No, they aren't cupcakes, BUT, they are made in a cupcake pan! :)  Close enough!  These little treats are Portuguese Custard Cups, or Pasteis de Nata, or simply Natas!

I am a huge fan of puff pastry and custard.  I think I went a little puff pastry crazy because they were bigger than I thought they would be.  Next time I will add a little less puff pastry, add cinnamon on top, ohhh, or drizzled with honey and topped with berries!

Okay, I will stop now! :)

I found an article/recipe (I used my own custard recipe) on the Delicious Days Blog that was cute.  Pasteis de Nata or can I be a cupcake, please?  I love it!

Congratulations Jordan and Jessi!

Jordan and Jessi were married on October 20th in Mexico and then had a Reception to follow on October 25th.  The reception was held at the University Club on top of the Fifth Third Building.  That was the first time I had been up there and I was impressed.  It was amazing!  Very spacious and the view was spectacular!

They decided to have cupcakes as the centerpieces.  What a great way to save money!  You get the "cake" and the centerpiece for one price!  They had rose petals surrounding the cupcakes and mini maracas as favors.

The goods: Red Velvet Cupcakes with Plum/Dark Purple Cream Cheese Frosting, Hot Chocolate Cupcakes with Burgundy/Maroon Fluffy Chocolate Buttercream Frosting and Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Burnt Orange Cream Cheese Frosting.

Congrats Jordan and Jessi on your marriage!

'Tis the season...to start blogging again!

During the month of November I was a little slow on the cupcake end so that I could help out my sister with her new baby.  He is such a joy and a handful. :)  The fabulous Jen of JK Photography took Dylan's newborn pictures, which were amazing!

Now it is December and I am back to business as usual!  This weekend kicks off the holiday parties so if you need a special treat (cupcakes...hint, hint!) let me know!

Popular holiday flavors include: Red Velvet Cupcakes, Pumpkin Cupcakes, Hot Chocolate Cupcakes with Peppermint Schnapps Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting topped with Crushed Peppermint Candy Canes
